JoAnna Hollingsworth, 81, of Newton, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at Skiff Medical Center – Monarch Wing.
Memorial services will be on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Monroe United Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m. There will be no visitation.
The family will greet friends following the service at a luncheon at the church. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Jasper County or the Monroe Emergency Unit.

The daughter of Howard and Jane (Hart) Nimmo, JoAnna was born on January 1, 1929, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1947. On June 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Ray Hollingsworth in Monroe. JoAnna worked as a secretary at the high school. She enjoyed painting and reading.
Those left to honor her memory, her daughter, Cindy (Steve) Kern of Monroe, two grandchildren, Shanna Donahue of Monroe and Mark (Johnna) Donahue and great-granddaughter Charlotte of Colfax, two brothers, Harry Nimmo of San Francisco, California and Herb (Cheri) Nimmo of Waukee, Iowa and two sisters, Bette (Mick) McConeghey of Monroe, and Imogene Dailey of Newton. Preceding JoAnna in death were her parents, husband Kenny in 2005, a son Scott Hollingsworth in 2001 and two brothers, Harlan and Howard “Ike” Nimmo.
