Robert Franklin Allen, 52, of Newton, the son of Robert F. and Laura J. (Wilkin) Allen, was born Jan. 31, 1958 in Ames, IA. He was a graduate of the Ames Senior High, Class of 1976.
A longtime resident of the Ames area, Bob moved to Newton, IA in 2000. He was employed as a clerk by the Wal-Mart Superstore in Newton. He had devoted his life to his family and friends. Bob enjoyed his cat, going to the Y.M.C.A. and playing video games.
Bob died on Thursday evening, Feb. 4, 2010, at his home in Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial funeral service for Bob will be at a later date, with no visitation planned at this time. The Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Those left to honor Bob's memory include his brother Michael Allen of Rockford, Minn.; his sister Randi Allen-Martin of Madrid, Iowa; and his many friends. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.pencefh.com.
