CEDAR FALLS — Larry Lee Lane, 65, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.
He was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Newton, the son of George Leo and Wilma (Bagnall) Lane. Larry married Linda Bucklin and they later divorced. He married Sally Sullivan on Oct. 2, 1999, in Waterloo. Larry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a heavy equipment engineer for several companies, retiring in 2008 from Story Construction Company.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Sullivan of Cedar Falls; his mother, Wilma Lane of Newton; three daughters, Lisa Dekins and Lori Lane, both of Des Moines, and Lacey Archer of Colfax, Iowa; two stepchildren, Kelly Loughren of Cedar Falls and John (Julie) Sullivan of Lenexa, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three brothers, Mike Lane of Newton, Tim Lane of Spencer, Iowa, and Jim (Liz) Lane of Des Moines. Larry was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 5 p.m. vigil service will be conducted. Visitation also will be one hour before service at the church.
