COLFAX, IA. – William H. Darrock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Darrock, was born in Carbonado, Ia., Aug. 4, 1896, coming with his parents to Colfax in 1902. He was united in marriage to Maude Burnett, who preceded him in death a year ago last June.
He departed this life at the home of his parents at 4:30 p.m., December 11, 1939.
He leaves to mourn his death his only daughter, Mrs. Patricia Bell, his father and mother, three sisters, Mrs. Walter Anderson of Davenport, Ia., Mrs. Claire Moore of Davenport, Ia., Mrs. Robert Weston of Santa Ana, Calif., and one brother, Oliver Darrock at home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 13, from Cutter Hartnett Funeral home with the Rev. Albert Van der Ploeg, pastor of the Baptist church officiating.
A quartette composed of Mrs. John Rinker, Mrs. Ida Helming, Gomer Williams and Laura Edwards sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “In the Garden” and Gomer Williams sang “No Longer Lonely” as a solo. Mrs. George Rinker was accompanist.
Mrs. T. Edwards, Sr., had charge of the flowers.
Pallbearers were Charles Chapman, Jim Chapman, Artie Bell, Ivan Jones, Reams Rawlins and Dean Frazier.
Interment was beside his wife in Highland cemetery.
