Marilyn J. White, 78, Newton died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at the Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing in Newton, Iowa.
No services are scheduled. Burial will be in the Veteran’s Section at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton is handling arrangements.
Marilyn was born Nov. 22, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., and lived in Newton for most of her life. On Feb. 7, 1970, she was united in marriage to James W. White in Newton.
Survivors include three sons, K.J. (Sue) Waldman of Newton, Kyle (Tonya) Waldman of Oklahoma and James B. (Michelle) White of Des Moines; one daughter, Karla J. (William) Cooper of Newton; seven step-sons, Bill T. White, James R. White, Nicholas White, David White, Wesley White, Kenneth White and Richard White; three step-daughters, Teresa White, Sylvia White and Rebecca White; 30 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Brenda Fetterer; and two half-brothers, Leo Fetterer and John Fetterer.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Murn; two step-fathers; and her husband, James White, in 2008.
