Terry L. McCarl, 65, of Newton died on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. There will be a meal served during the gathering.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials left in Terry’s name. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Newton; four daughters, Tammy McCarl Blalock of Melcher, Terri (Andy) McKinney of Newton, Jode (Darren) Bingham of Melcher, and Billie McCarl (Clint) Eilander of Newton; a son, Tony (Debbie) Morrison; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brother; and four sisters.

Terry L. McCarl was born October 22, 1944. Terry was a graduate of Melcher-Dallas High School. Terry was a truck driver for 49 years, retiring in 2003. His surviving brother’s name is Buster (Karen) McCarl; and his four sisters are: Sue (Lyle) Kindley, Bonnie McKinney, Linney McCarl, and Joyce Mandujano. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd “Joe” and Joesphine (Spears) McCarl; and brother, Jack McCarl.
