CENTERVILLE - Linda Glovas, 65, of Rathbun, Iowa died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville, Iowa.
Linda was born September 19, 1944 in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of John William and Mary Ruth (Vander Kraats) Sullivan. She graduated from Newton High School and was employed at Maytag in Newton and later retired from Viskase (formerly Union Carbide) in Centerville, IA.
She was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading and cooking. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Rathbun and then St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centerville. She married Louis L. Mitchell and later married Richard Glovas on Jan 31, 1969 at Unionville, MO.
She is survived by her husband Richard, 4 children Kim (Dennis) Mitchell Schutty, Lisa (Guy) Mitchell Winchell all of Newton, Iowa, Tonja (Jeff) Glovas Deahl of Moulton, Iowa, and Rick (Ashley) Glovas, of Moulton, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother Pat (Carolyn) Sullivan of Newton. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Dennis Schaab C.PP.S. Centerville. Friends may call Sunday from noon until 8 pm with the family present from 2-4 p.m. at the Lange Funeral Home, Centerville. Burial will the in the Haines Cemetery north of Centerville. A memorial has been established to the Linda Glovas Memorial Fund and may be left at the Lange Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.langefh.com
