Randall L. Stock, 59, of Monroe died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at his home.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the church with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial with military rites will take place at Silent City Cemetery.

The son of Dilman and Frances (Mason) Stock, Randy was born on December 22, 1949, in Mason City, Iowa. He graduated from Hampton High School and attended Iowa State University. Randy served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, serving from 1970 – 1973. On September12, 1970, he was united in marriage to Judy Akkerman in Titonka, Iowa. Following his military career, Randy went to work for the US Post Office, most recently serving as Post Master in Monroe. He was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church and the Monroe American Legion. Randy enjoyed fishing, gardening watching the Viking’s and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Judy, two sons, Jeff (Tracy) Stock stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany and Jason (Stephanie) Stock of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Colin, Taylor, Avery, Dillon, Owen, Riley, Emma, and August and his parents, Dilman and Frances Stock of Monroe. Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents.
