ALTOONA – Betty Fry, 75, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
She was born on June 25, 1934 in Lynnville, Iowa to Benjamin and Lauretta Verwers.
She was a member of Eastern Star in Altoona.
She is survived by her son, Merlen Fry; daughters, Marti Rosenberger and Brandi Leverich; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister. Betty was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 Fourth St. SW. Burial will follow at the Altoona Cemetery. A visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Betty.
