Hold Rites for Mrs. A. Charles

Funeral services for Mrs. Andrew Charles, 51, were held at the First Methodist church Friday afternoon by Dr. L. B. Logan. Interment was in the Sugar Grove cemetery.

Pallbearers were D. B. Barton, Nook Schermerhorn, John Schermerhorn, Edgar Schermerhorn, Bert Stevens and Ralph Butler.

Mrs. Logan sang "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" and "In the Garden." Flowers were arranged by Mrs. Maurice Richardson and Mrs. Curtis Thompson.

Mrs. Charles resided in Newton before moving to Waterloo seven years ago. She died at her home July 8.

Lula Kate Shrum, daughter of Calvin and Belle Shrum, was born May 15, 1890, in Hillsboro, Tenn. She was wed to Andrew Martin Charles on Feb. 11, 1911, in Hillsboro, Tenn.

Surviving relatives are her husband and son, Ira, and a daughter Mae Ellen of Waterloo; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Shrum of Oswego, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. James Finley of Newton and Mrs. Jack Meriweather of Oswego, Kan.; two brothers, Francis Shrum of Newton and Lillard Shrum of Oswego, Kan.
