Conduct Rites For Mrs. Gants

Final rites for Mrs. Mark E. Gants, 58, were conducted this morning at 10 o'clock at the Sacred Heart Catholic church by Rev. Father Dennis Callahan of Colfax, Ia. Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harry Sprinkle, Harry Doane, Francis Kelly, H. J. Lammers, C. E. Stewart and J. H. Ross.

Flowers were arranged by Mrs. Harry Doane, Mrs. P. J. McCloskey and Mrs. P. S. Grote.

Mrs. Gants, the former Catherine Leary, was born Jan. 30, 1883, in Newton, Ia., the daughter of George and Ellen Leary.

She was united in marriage with Mark E. Gants on Dec. 31, 1902, and to this union were born four children. She had made her home in Newton until moving to Toledo a year ago.

Mrs. Gants entered the Skiff Memorial hospital June 17 where she submitted to an operation. She never recovered. Death occurred on July 10.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic church.
