Warren P. Ayrers Dies Saturday; Rites Tuesday

Warren Price Ayres, 70, died Saturday evening at 9:o'clock at the State University of Iowa hospital of Iowa City after an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Newton Union cemetery.

Mr. Ayres was born in Paola, Kan., April 29, 1871, and was wed in 1894 to Flora Morrison at Butler, Mo.

To this union were born five children, all of whom survive--Mrs. Iva Fettkether of Marshalltown, Mrs. Ola Kelly of Des Moines, Harvey of Rich Hill, Mo., Mrs. Florence Phalen of Cuba, Kan., and Gilvin Ayres of Charles City. Surviving also are two grandchildren, Mrs. Arlene Redding of Newton and Bill Henderson of U. S. S. Arizona, U. S. Navy, seven other grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In later years he was married to Opal Morton of Newton, who survives with their three children, Lorena, Barbara and Betty Ayres, and one step-son.

Mr. Ayres came to Newton in 1925 and since that time until four years ago was employed at the Maytag factory.
