David McAllister

Funeral services for David McAllister, 80, who died at his home about 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, were held Thursday afternoon at the First Presbyterian church at 2 o'clock.

Rev. George DeF. Fisher was in charge of the services with interment being made in the Newton Union cemetery.

Mr. McAllister had been in ill health since the death of his wife on February 29 of this year, and died following a heart attack.

He was born at Kilwinnin, Scotland February 12, 1860, and came to the United States at the age of eight years, residing in Maryland with his parents until he came to Newton 21 years ago.

On Nov. 5, 1884 he was united in marriage to Agnes Brown of Newton. Two of their six children preceded him in death.

Surviving relatives are four children, Allan McAllister, Sr. and Mrs. Inez Dotson of Newton; Robert McAllister of Des Moines and Mrs. L. D. Anderson of Monroe; six grandchildren, a great grandson, and a sister, Mrs. Christina Coe of Long Beach, Cal.
