Walter Jones--

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Cutter and Hartnett chapel for Walter Jones, Sr., 73, of Colfax, who died at his home Wednesday noon.

Mr. Jones was born in Beaufort, South Wales, and had been a resident of the United States since 1895. He had worked in the mines at one time and later operated a newspaper and magazine agency and confectionery store. He retired several years ago.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. Alice Van Voorhis of West Des Moines, Mrs. Laura Tousley of Oelwin (Oelwein), Walter Jones, Jr., of Des Moines and Alfred Jones of Chicago. His wife preceded him in death.
