Reasnor Farmer Dies of Sleeping Sickness; Had Been Ill Some Time
Fred Witemer, a wealthy farmer of near Reasnor, died Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock from sleeping sickness. Mr. Witimer had been ill with influenza last winter and an abscess formed at the base of his brain. He was taken to Rochester for treatment by the Mayo brothers but was brought back three weeks ago to the home of his uncle, Chas. Berkenholz, in Monroe where he died. Mr. Witimer was fifty years of age and unmarried living by himself across the river from Reasnor. He has been ill with the sleeping sickness three weeks. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
