DES MOINES — Helen L. Green, 91, passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Taylor House Hospice.
Helen was born April 25, 1918, in Des Moines to Jesse and Nina (Overton) Brown. She married Marvin Green on Feb. 3, 1953.
Helen was a legal secretary for Rahm & Thielking until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of Happy Trails Singers. Helen, on the organ together with her sister Frances, on the piano, enjoyed entertaining residents at various nursing homes.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Nina (Philip) Brown of Newton; granddaughters, Jennifer (Ryan) Repp of Newton and Katy (Luke Gloeckner) Brown of Ohio; and her sister, Frances Hull of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin. Graveside services were today, Monday, Aug. 17, at Pine Hill Cemetery.
