BAXTER — Eugene, 77, of Baxter passed away Aug. 5, 2009, while under the care of Hospice of Jasper County, in Newton, due to complications from leukemia.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the E Free Church in Baxter with the Rev. Eugene Bucklin officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at the E Free Church.
Eugene was born on Aug. 1, 1932, in Newton to Arthur and Mildred Trotter. He attended school in Newton then join the Marine Corps to serve in the Korean War.
On Aug. 31, 1956, after a short courtship, Eugene married the love of his life Carol Cool in Baxter.
He was self employed owning GT Siding and Replacement Windows. He was a lifetime member the VFW, Newton American Legion and a founding member at the E Free Church. He was a hard working, loving husband, father and friend that will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Carol Trotter of Baxter; four daughters, Christina (Mike) Trotter of Newton, Linda (Dan) Allan, Debbie (Bill) Gipe and Pam (Fred) Roush, all of Baxter; grandchildren, Michelle (Eduardo) Alvardo, Jeremy (Stacy) Rhone, Nichole and Danielle Allan, Emily and Nathan Gipe, Amanda and Jacob Roush; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Art (Dorthy) Trotter and Bob (Phyllis) Trotter, all of Newton; and his many friends.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the devoted staff at Hospice of Jasper County.

Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Baxter is in charge of arrangements.
