Mary Lucretia Reynolds was born to Isaac and Abitha Reynolds in Carlisle Iowa, on Oct. 10, 1877.
On March 13, 1901 at Vandalia, Iowa she was united in marriage to William Wagner. To this union ten children were born, a daughter and two sons having preceded her in death. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her passing three sons, Clell of Colfax, Teddy of Valeria and Wilder of Colfax; four daughters, Mrs. Mollie Atkinson of Colfax, Mrs. Mary Miller of Des Moines, Mrs. Bessie Simbro of Monroe, and Mrs. Stella Poulson of Cedar Falls; a stepson Raymond of Craig, Colorado; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Bowers of Altoona; 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
She had been in poor health for several years. On November 7 she suffered a heart attack and a light stroke leaving her bedfast. On Dec. 1 at 7:20 a.m. she passed away.
Her married years were spent on a farm mostly in Jasper County. She was a kind and loving mother and always was willing to help others.
Pall bearers were Clifford Simbro, Bernard Simbro, Wayne Wagner, Norman Bowers, Dale Miller and Charles Owens, Jr.
Flower committee was Mrs. Chas. Owens Sr. and Mrs. Clifford Gerhart.
The pastor was Rev. Clyde McDonald, a family friend.
Services were held in Vandalia with burial there in the family plot.
