DEATH OF MRS. CLARA BEALS
Baxter New Era: Mrs. Clara (Jeffers) Beals passed away at her home in Baxter, Sunday, July 12, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 1 day. She had been in failing health for the past six months, but was taken bedfast only last Friday, from which she never recovred.

Mrs. Beals was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Beals, on Dec. 3, 1940: also one son Dale, and two children at infancy.

She leaves to mourn her passing seven daughters and three sons: Mrs. Bert Cross, Mrs. Al Boutelle and Mrs. Clarence Von Hager, of Baxter; Mrs. Minnie Dodd and Mrs. Arthur Long of Des Moines; Mrs. Will Shenkle of St. Anthony, and Mrs. Oscar Morris of Kasson, Minn.; Jay Beals and Donald Beals of Colfax and Stanley Beals of Collins. She also leaves a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Community Congregational Church in Baxter July 15 at 2 p.m., with Rev. B. W. Northrup officiating.
