Mrs. L. W. Faidley, 88, died at 9:45 a. m. Monday, January 19th at the home of Mrs. Agnes McNeer in Colfax, where she had been residing for the fast few months. Mrs. Faidley had suffered several strokes the past year, and death was attributted to the combination of the strokes and frailities of age.

She was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Gooden, and was born in Colfax, Iowa, December 9, 1870. Mrs. Faidley spent her entire life as a resident of Colfax. She attended the local schools, and was a member of the Christian Church. She was united in marriage to Levi Faidley on February 20, 1889 in this city, and the couple would have observed their 70th wedding anniversary next month.

Survivors include her husband, three sons, Roy and Cleo of Colfax and Clarence of Prairie City; one brother Oscar Gooden of Reimer, Minn., three sisters, Mrs. Sam Meyers, Maxwell; Mr. Eugene Turner of Tabor, Iowa and Mrs. Pearl Carr of Pipestone, Minn. Twelve grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren also mourn her passing. Two brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Faidley took an active interest in the affairs of the Chrisitian church and was a wonderful homemaker for her family. Her friendliness and willingness to lend a helping hand in time of need made her loved and respected by her neighbors, who with members of the family will miss her greatly in the days to come.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Christian church with Rev. N. G. Clayton, pastor, officiating.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Geo. Rinker, soloist with Mrs. Lee Schmitt, organist.

Bearers were Myron, Kenneth, Lloyd, Loren, Leland, and Clarence W. Faidley, Jr.

Those in charge of flowers were Mrs. Nathan Pierce, Mrs. Don Swanson, and Mrs. Arthur Cooper.

Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
