GRINNELL — Darlene Hull, 88, of Grinnell died on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with interment at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in Grinnell.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Glenn) Ratcliff of Newton; two sons, Darryl (Cheryl) Hull of Grinnell and Dean (Daniela) Hull of Meisau, Germany; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lavern Morrison of Grinnell.

Darlene was born on May 22, 1921, to Charles and Myrtle Gruhn Morrison. She was raised in the Malcom area and graduated from Malcom High School. On October 22, 1945, she was married to Donald E. Hull in Grinnell. The couple operated a grain and livestock farm near Grinnell and she was a homemaker. Darlene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grinnell and she enjoyed serving on church committees, preparing food for church functions and serving communion. She was also a member of the Harmony Ladies Aid and she enjoyed working at food stands at the Poweshiek County Fair.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Dale and Dennis Hull; one brother, William Morrsion; and one sister Marjorie Morrison.
