Minnie Viola Henning, 71, of 1217 N. 4th Ave. E., a resident of Newton since 1932, died of a heart attack Thursday, April 10, at the Skiff Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. A. B. Sudbrock, pastor of the Newton Baptist Temple, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Palo Alto Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday. Visitation with the family will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors are seven sons, William of Onalaska, Tex., Robert of Bernard, Harold, Richard and Albert D. all of Newton, James of Kellogg, and Thomas of New Ipswich, N.H.; three daughters, Betty (Mrs. Billy) Stafford, Chrystal Henning and Alberta (Mrs. Arden) Meyer, all of Newton; 38 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, R. B. Redding of Harvey and two sisters, Lucille Robinson of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Pauline Lautenbach of Pella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert C., July 31, 1981, three sons, three daughters, two grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and a sister.
Mrs. Henning, a member of the Newton Baptist Temple, had been employed at Nelson Manor and Skiff Medical Center and was a retired nurse’s aide.
The daughter of Danny E. and Maud Lash Redding, she was born April 17, 1914 in Harvey and attended Harvey schools.
She was married May 10, 1930 in Newton.
