Kenneth Henning, 54, of 901 E. 13th St. N., a longtime resident of Newton, died Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Grinnell General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. Robert Hinshaw, pastor of the Ashton Chapel, west of Baxter, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Veterans Section of Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions to a fund in Mr. Henning’s name will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Berniece Henning of Seattle, Wash.; two sons, Kenneth Scott Henning of Rockwell and Matthew Lamer Henning of Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Bambi Lynn Thibodeaux of Newton; his mother, Mrs. Mamie Henning of Newton; two grandsons; and two granddaughters.
Also surviving are two brothers, Roy Henning and Donald Henning, both of Newton; and a sister, Luella Banks of Moline, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his father, first wife, Bobette, July 9, 1980 and an infant son.
Mr. Henning had been employed at Midwest Manufacturing Co. in Kellogg.
The son of Walter and Mamie Schermerhorn Henning, he was born Sept. 1, 1932 in Newton and was educated in Newton schools.
