HOUSTON, Texas — Kenneth M. Hoffmaster, 60, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Newton, died Friday, June 19, 2009, at his home in Houston.
Kenny’s family will gather to celebrate his life on Friday, July 3, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the American Legion in Newton. Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kenny’s family at 1023 Union Drive, Newton 50208.
Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton is in charge of arrangements.
The son of Kenneth L. and Glendoris (Leahy) Hoffmaster, Kenny was born on April 28, 1949, in Newton. He was a graduate of Newton Senior High School in 1967 and had worked at the Maytag Company before moving to Houston, Texas, in 1978. He had currently been working at the VA Hospital in Houston. Kenny had served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1971.
Survivors include his daughter, JC of Texas; three sisters, Vicki Duchene of Ames, Debbie Payne and Kim (Ed) Mettler, all of Newton; five nieces and nephews; and 10 great-nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and maternal and paternal grandparents.
