Albert C. Henning, 74, of 507 N. 2nd Ave. W., a lifelong resident of Newton and owner and operator of Henning-Yarham Monument Co., died Friday afternoon at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. A. B. Sudbrock, pastor of the Newton Baptist Temple, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Palo Alto Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Minnie; seven sons, William “Bill” of Houston, Tex., Robert “Bob” of Bernard, Jim of Kellogg, Thomas of New Ipswich, N.H. and Harold, Albert D. “Skip” and Richard B., all of Newton; three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Betty) Stafford, Mrs. Gale (Crystal) Morrow and Mrs. Alberta Meyer, all of Newton, 38 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Walter and Carl, both of Kellogg, and Ted of Colfax; and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hasselbrink of Grinnell and Mrs. Emma Reynolds of Rock Island, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six children, a son, Ronald C. in 1978 and five in infancy, three brothers, a sister and two grandchildren.
Mr. Henning had been employed by the City of Newton for more than 20 years.
The son of August F. and Frederica Saak Henning, he was born June 14, 1907 in Ledyard and was graduated from Newton Community High School.
He was married to Minnie V. Redding May 10, 1930 in Newton.
