Edward H. Henning, Former Resident of Kellogg, Dies
Edward Herman Henning, 78, of 2918 13th Ave., Rock Island, Ill., a resident of Jasper County until moving from Newton in 1937, died Friday afternoon at his home.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home in Newton.The Rev. A. B. Sudbrock, pastor of the Newton Baptist Temple, will conduct services.
Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors are two sons, Leo and Clifford, both of Rock Island, Ill.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Walter and Carl, both of Kellogg, Theodore of Colfax and Albert of Newton; and two sisters, Mrs. Will (Elsie) Hasselbrink of Grinnell and Mrs. Emma Reynolds of Rock Island, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leona, Aug. 22, 1965; two sons in infancy; two brothers, August and Fred; and a sister, Lena.Mr. Henning, a member of the Church of Christ in Rock Island, Ill., was assistant superintendent of the water department in Rock Island.
The son of August Frederick and Fredericka Saak Henning, he was born Dec. 20, 1901 in Baxter.
He was married to Leona Porter in 1924 in Newton.
