Hold Rites for Mrs. Hannagan Here Yesterday
Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Hannagan were conducted yesterday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Newton Lutheran church, with Dr. W. H. Blancke in charge. Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery.
Music for the services was furnished by Mrs. Katherine Schaumberg and Mrs. Mattie Trapp, who sang two selections, “Rock of Ages” and “Jesus Savior Pilot Me”. Miss Ruth Miller was the accompanist.
Six brothers, August, Jr., Theodore, Edward and Walter Henning, all of Newton and Fred and Albert Henning of Kellogg, served as pallbearers.
Lena Augusta Hannagan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Henning was born April 8, 1892 in Newton and died early Saturday morning, at 8:45 o’clock at the Skiff Memorial hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Eben Hannagan; a son, Charles; a step-daughter, Florence; her father, August Henning, Sr., of Laurel; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Reynolds of Truro and Mrs. Elsie Hasselbrink of Kellogg; and seven brothers, Carl, August, Theodore, Edward and Walter Henning, all of Newton and Fred and Albert Henning of Kellogg. Her mother preceded her in death Dec. 24, 1928
