Alberta Marie Meyer, 51, of 504 N. 3rd Ave. E., died of heart failure, Saturday, May 15, in her home in Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene Cedarholm, retired pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday after 9 a.m. where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. The Wallace-Pence Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorials to the American Heart Association will be accepted.
The daughter of Albert and Minnie Redding Henning, she was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School and American Institute of Business in Des Moines.
A life-long resident of Newton, she worked as a waitress. She was baptized in the First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Arden and Jean Meyer of Langley Air Force Base, Langley, Va., Richard and Betsey Meyer of Marengo; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Glenda Henning of Texas, Harold Henning of Newton, Richard and Diane Henning of Newton, Tommy Henning of Vermont, Bob and Helen Henning of Cascade, Albert and Ona Henning of Newton, James and Mary Henning of Kellogg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Bill Stafford of Newton, and Crystal and Rodney Walker of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters and two nephews.
