Robert Lee Conn, the son of David and Muriel (Montegomery) Conn, was born June 28, 1938, in Polk County. He graduated from Lynnville High School with the class of 1956. Robert had lived in Washington state for a time but has lived the majority of his life in Newton. He worked as a foreman for Thomberts, Inc. in Newton, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local #997. Robert enjoyed being with his family, NASCAR Racing and was a Green Bay Packers fan.
Robert died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Heritage Manor in Newton. He was 70 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers, Cornie, Ronald and Richard.
Those left to honor Robert’s memory include his son, David B. (Julia) Conn of Newton; his daughter, Jodi (James) Holloway of Newton; his three grandchildren, Lance Holloway, Jenna Conn and Dustin Conn; his sister, Janet Roush of Newton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
