BAXTER — Neva Klyn, 89, of Baxter died on Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Baxter Health Care Center in Baxter.
Services were held today, Monday, June 8, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter. The Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton was in charge of the arrangements.

Interment immediately following the funeral service on Monday, June 08, 2009 at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Those left to honor Neva's memory are her 2 sons, Wayne (Teri) Klyn of Altoona, Iowa and Bruce Klyn of Blakesburg, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, Kevin (Dagmar) Klyn of Germany, Curt (Kristy) Klyn of Grimes, Iowa, Eric (Jenny) Klyn of Blakesburg, Kristen (Rob) Walker of Des Moines, Iowa, Anna Moreland of Des Moines, and Ryan (Christy) Moreland of Altoona; her 11 great-grandchildren, Christian, Samantha, Julien, Gunner, Katrina, Matthew, Peyton, Wyatt, Whitney, Drake, and Avery; her brothers and sisters, Rayford (Elenora) Ratcliff of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Velma Sparks of Montezuma, Iowa, Alice (Lloyd) Sparks of Lynnville, Iowa, Vera Beason of Grinnell, Iowa, and Mevlin (Marcile) Ratcliff of Lynnville; brother-in-law, Clair Fenner of Grinnell; and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Charlotte (Groves) Ratcliff; husband, Earl in 1999; and a sister, Doris Fenner.
Neva grew up in Lynnville and graduated from Lynnville High School in 1936. After she was married to Earl Klyn on December 28, 1938, they farmed North of Lynnville. In the early 1940's they moved to a farm by Baxter. Neva was a homemaker and farmer's wife. After "retiring" she was a cook at the Baxter Health Care Center for 13 years.
She was a lifelong member of the Lynnville Friends Church and attended the UCC Church in Baxter. She was also a past member of the Baxter Kitchen Band, ODO - Old Dead Owls, and the Baxter Garden Club.
Memorials in Neva's name may be left at the church on the day of the service.
