Chas. A. McKeever Funeral Friday at Mingo Methodist Church

Passed Away Sept. 24 in Des Moines; Most of Life Spent in Jasper County

Funeral services for Charles A. McKeever, 64, were held Friday afternoon from the Methodist church in Mingo with the Rev. Ted Mallinckrodt officiating.
Mr. McKeever was born Feb. 10, 1887, and with the exception of a few years, spent all his life in Jasper county, living near Valeria most of the time. In 1942 he moved to Des Moines and in 1944 his wife died. He was employed by the Chicago, Great Western railroad in Des Moines and in 1945 was injured and since then has been unable to work.

He is survived by eight children, Mrs. Julia Myers, Mrs. Mazie Mehaffey, Viola McKeever, Mrs. Opal Wilson, Mrs. Juetta Spevack, all of Des Moines and Ralph Russell and Gilford all of Valeria. Five brothers and three sisters, Benjamin, Frank, Henry and William, Des Moines; Fred of Prairie City, Mrs. Viola Dawson, Avon; Mrs. Mary Schaffer and Jennie Southern of Des Moines.

Music for the service was given by Eldon Geisler, Mrs. Howard Southern with Mrs. L. L. Pickett, accompanist.

Pallbearers were Ross McKeever, Charles McKeever, Hamilton McKeever, Lawrence McKeever, Frederick McKeever and Joe Borts.

Burial was in the Sams cemetery.
