Mrs. Tom Bowman Died Thursday after Long Illness
Final Rites Held Saturday from Colfax Methodist Church; Native of England
Mrs. Lottie Bowman, 63, of this city died Thursday at the hospital in Des Moines, where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. She had been in poor health for the past few years and gradually declined in health until her passing.
Lottie Nichols, daughter of John and Charlotte Nichols, was born August 20, 1885 in County of Durham, England and grew to young womanhood in that country.
On February 14th, 1902, she was united in marriage to Thomas R. Bowman at Sundelland, England. To this union two sons were born, John Thomas of Newton and Norman of Torrington, Wyoming.
In 1906 the family came to America and located at Colfax which has since been their home.
Besides her husband and two sons, she is also survived by one brother, George Nichols, of Grinnell, Iowa and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. Floyd Shepherd officiating.
Pallbearers were Bert E. Robbins, Dale Main, Jack Williams, Ioan Jones, Wm. Thomas and Arnold Myhra.
Flower committee, Mrs. Maude Carroll, Mrs. Dorothy Howell and Mrs. Amelia Williams.
Burial was in the Colfax cemetery.
