Mrs. Mack Wade Died August 9th at Shell Lake, Wis.
Was Colfax Resident for Many Years; Funeral Services Held August 11th
Mrs. Elnora (Mack) Wade, 80, died August 9th at Shell Lake, Wis., following a general decline in health.
For many years she and her husband lived on the Wade place near the Golf Links, where Mr. Wade and his brothers Guy and Sid farmed and were noted the country over for their fine melons.
Last rites were held Wed. Aug. 11, from the Blume Funeral Home in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, for Mrs. Elnora Wade, 80, who passed away Monday at the Shell Lake hospital. The Rev. Harland Logan officiated at the services. Mrs. Wade was born July 22, 1868, in Wheatland, Iowa. She was married Jan. 1, 1886 to Mack Wade, who preceded her in death, Dec. 15, 1938. A son Mack Jr. passed away in 1924.
She is survived by two sons, Rupert and Melvin, both of Sarona, Wis., four daughters, Mrs. Carl Hilton (Anna) of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Ireland, Shell Lake, Wis., Mrs. Fred Claussen (Leatha) of Spooner, Wis., Mrs. Seth Shepard (Viven) of Spirit Lake, Iowa. Two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Wisser of St. Paul, Neb., Mrs. Bertha Glass of Grand Island, Neb., one brother, Sidney Brown, Ord, Neb., 27 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. She is survived here by a sister-in-law Mrs. Anna Wade, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Mrs. Wade was entirely blind before she passed on.
Burial was in the Shell Lake Cemetery, pallbearers were Max Shepard, Robert Wade, Junior Wade, Walter Gace, Clarence Hilton and Carl Claussen all grandsons of the deceased.
Mrs. Wade was a member of The First Baptist Church of Colfax.
