Baxter — Dave Kinney, 85, of Baxter died on March 9, 2009, at Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing in Newton.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the United Congregational Church of Christ in Baxter.

Dave was born on May 11, 1923 in Macks Creek, Missouri. He grew up in Branch, Missouri. Dave served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He later moved to the Des Moines area for over 40 years, where he worked as a restaurant supply salesman for Bolton and Hay. Dave was united in marriage with Evelyn Rutledge on December 29, 1963 in Missouri. He was a past member of the Acanthus Lodge #632 in Des Moines. Dave enjoyed being with his grandchildren, going to auctions, garage sales, and flea markets. He and Evelyn moved to Baxter in 1995. Those left to honor Dave’s memory are his wife, Evelyn Kinney of Baxter; 2 daughters, Nadine (Don) Perkey of Hunstville, AL and Kellie Beesley of Baxter; his 2 sons, David (Carla) Kinney of Rogers, AR and Keith (Jill) Kinney of Marseilles, IL; 8 grandchildren; his 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; his 3 brothers, Joe, Bill, and Wilbur Kinney; and 1 sister, Nadine Overton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rebecca (Nation) Kinney and a brother, Jack Kinney.
Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home or the church the morning of the service.
