Kenneth F. Chubbuck, 63, of Prairie City died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Prairie City United Methodist Church, with burial following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery south of Prairie City. Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Prairie City United Methodist Church Building Fund, and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The son of Eldridge Chubbuck and Viola Davis, Ken was born on Feb. 14, 1946, in Limon, Colo. He graduated from High School in Colorado. Following graduation, Ken joined the United States Army and served during Vietnam. He was a decorated soldier and proudly served for 20 years. On Nov. 15, 1969, he was united in marriage to Patricia J. Brown at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Ken enjoyed woodworking, mechanics and also farmed as a hobby.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Patricia of Prairie City; children, Chelsea Chubbuck, Kenneth Ray Chubbuck and Jenni Van Baale, all of Prairie City; and two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Gavin. Also surviving are his brother and sisters, Doris Maskus of Colorado, Dorothy Engel of Colorado, Ray Chubbuck of North Dakota, Kay Willoughby of Texas, Kary Lou Martin of Texas and Billie Jean Johnson of Colorado.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Laraissa; a brother, Richard; and two nephews, Keith and Garrett.*
