William Warrick

PRAIRIE CITY - Funeral services for William Warrick, 68, of Prairie City, prominent Jasper County area farmer and breeder of Hampshire hogs, were held today, July 23 at the Monroe First Baptist Church.

The Rev. Greg Boyle, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Memorials to the Monroe First Baptist Church will be accepted and may be left at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.

Mr. Warrick died Friday, July 20, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Survivors are his wife, Alise; a son, Bill of Berwick; a daughter, Mrs. Norbert (Pat) Bruns of Denver; four grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest of Prairie City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Warrick was a member of the Monroe First Baptist Church.

The son of John and Elizabeth Sage Warrick, he was born Nov. 16, 1915 in Colfax and was a 1934 graduate of Mingo High School.

He was married to Elsie Zerley Sept 17, 1938 in Monroe.

In 1939 Mr. Warrick and his parents were associated with George Orcutt in the production of Lester Pfiser hybrid corn ~ Newton Daily News, February 18, 1974
