Alberta Cox, 95, Former Newburg Resident Dies

Newburg - Funeral services for Mrs. William (Alberta) Cox, 95, of Grinnell, a former resident of Newburg, were held recently at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

The Rev. John W. McCallum, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, conducted the services. Burial was in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Clyde (Mary C.) Johnson of Newton.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William in 1952; parents, four sister, and six brothers.

The daughter of LeRoy and Mary Ann Bowers Crawford. She was born April 1, 1878 in Wardensville, W. Va.

She was married February 6, 1935 in Montezuma.

She did recently at the St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. ~ Newton Daily News, February 18, 1915.
