A. Mildred Davis, 81, of Newton died on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
The family will greet friends following the service with a coffee time at the funeral home.
Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors include her son, Gerald “Gary” (Priscella) Davis of Newton; three grandchildren, Justina (Russell) Terlouw of Newton, Jennifer Davis of Newton and Josh (Debby) Davis of Newton; her three great-grandchildren, Avery J. Terlouw, Corey J. Terlouw and Dalton A. Davis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bill Davis, in 1970; second husband, George Minard, in 1994; five brothers; and two sisters.

As per Mildred's wishes she has been cremated and burial will be at a later date at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.

Those left to honor Millie's memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Son: Gerald "Gary" and Priscella Davis of Newton; three grandchildren, Tina (Russell) Terlouw of Newton, Jennifer Davis of Newton, and Josh (Debby) Davis of Newton; her three great-grandchildren, Avery J. Terlouw, Corey J. Terlouw and Dalton A. Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney L. and Anise J. (Rawlins) Carter; first husband, Bill Davis in 1970; second husband, George Minard in 1994; five brothers, and two sisters.

Millie was a production worker for twenty-three years for the Maytag Company, when she retired in 1989 she was working in dishwasher assembly. She was a member of the UAW Local 997 Retiree's Union.

Millie enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She also enjoyed volunteering for SHARE, and loved to go camping and taking trips to Branson.
