Minnie Poole, 101, of Newton died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at the Baxter Health Care Center in Baxter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, in the chapel at the Baxter Health Care Center with the Rev. Rollin Watters of the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at the Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
The Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton is in charge of arrangements.

Those left to honor Minnie's memory include her niece, Phyllis Milton of Alabama; and nephew, John N. Jones of South Dakota.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, John N. and Edith (Perry) Jones; husband, Herbert; her brother, John P. Jones; and 2 sisters--Lela Dodd and Blanche Soltis.
Minnie was born December 30, 1906 in Collins, Iowa. She attended school in Collins through 6th grade. She then went to school in Baxter, graduating in 1924. She worked as a county school teacher for 3 years.
Memorials to the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ may be left at the funeral home or at the nursing home on the day of the service.
