Louisville, Ky. — Evan Freeman, 25, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Mingo, passed away Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Elkhart. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Online condolences may be left at www.pencefh.com .

Evan Michael Freeman, the son of John David Freeman and Cinthia Lou Schrader, was born January 21, 1983 in Des Moines, Iowa . He was a 2001 graduate of Colfax-Mingo High School, a 2004 graduate of Indian Hills Community College, and a 2006 graduate of The University of Dubuque, earning a degree in Aviation and Management.
On June 8, 2007, Evan was united in marriage with Natalie LeeAnn Dreesman. Evan was living his dream as a pilot in Louisville, KY, flying for Air Ops, LLC. Evan had a deep appreciation for music and history. When not flying, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family and riding his Harley-Davidson.
Evan passed on Thursday, December 18, 2008, in Louisville, Kentucky (in a plane crash) at the young age of 25. Evan was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Schrader and DeVon Freeman.
Those left to honor Evan's memory include his wife, Natalie Freeman of Louisville, Kentucky; his father and mother, John and Cinthia Freeman of Mingo, Iowa; his brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Amanda Freeman of San Diego, California; his grandmothers, Beverly Schrader of Walford, Iowa and Frances Freeman of Sac City, Iowa; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Tracy Dreesman of Marion, Iowa and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church 216 N. Washington Ave. Elkhart, Iowa. Friends may call at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton after 4:00 p.m. Friday. The family will greet friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday. A Vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that a memorial be designated in Evan's name. They may be sent to the funeral home.
