MONROE — Rick Wright, 55, of Monroe died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at the Iowa Veterans Home of Marshalltown.
Funeral services for Rick will be today, Monday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Monroe with burial following at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation for Rick will be today, Monday, Dec. 22, at the First Baptist Church of Monroe prior to funeral services from 1 to 2 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Orval Andrew and Ethel Pauline (Noble) Wright, Rick was born on June 30, 1953 in Chariton. Rick proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. On June 26, 1971 Rick was united in marriage with Vickie Palmer at Princeton, Missouri. Rick had a real passion for fishing and hunting. He was also a fan of the Star Trek series. Rick was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife Vickie; children; Pamela (Corey) Lester, Brad (Marie) Wright, Angela (Robert) Stittsworth, Kenney (Shannon) Wright, and Jody (Erik) Van Der Kamp; grandchildren; Cass, Sierra, Autumn, Nickey, Tyler, Cael, Timothy, Haley, Kathryn, and Luke; and siblings; Marion (Bob) Goben, Mildred Sudbrock, Dorthea (Albert) Sudbrock, Minnie Music, Larry (Judy) Wright, Edwina Current, and Donna (Tom) Spidel. Rick was preceded in death by his infant son; Rickey Jr., parents; Orval and Ethel Wright, brother; Bud Wright, and nephew; Jackie Sudbrock.
