Terry K. Shaffer, 60, of Newton died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at the Baxter Health Care Center in Baxter.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Gary Marzolf officiating.The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Newton Union Cemetery.
Memorials to Progress Industries and Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.
The son of Kermit and Florence (Illingworth) Shaffer he was born on March 6, 1948, in Newton where he was a lifelong resident. Terry attended the Beacon- Light School in Newton. He worked various jobs through Progress Industries around Newton and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Terry enjoyed music, singing, dancing and race cars.
Survivors include his sister, Cindy (Keith) Wiebke of Allison; a brother, Mark (Kathee) Shaffer of Newton; and his niece and nephew, Lindsey and Austin Shaffer of Newton.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Randy Joe, at birth.
