DELAWARE, Ohio — Joan M. Erlandson, 81, of Delaware, Ohio, died on Saturday Dec. 13, 2008, at Wintersong Village Care Center. Funeral services will be on Friday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. at the First Reformed Church in Prairie City with burial following at Waveland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday at the church one hour prior to service time.

Born March 23, 1927 in Prairie City, Iowa to the late Martin and Pieternella (Meppelink) Van Zee. A graduate of Prairie City HS class of 1946, she married Robert Erlandson on Sept. 2, 1948. They have resided in Delaware for the past ten years. Joan was a homemaker and loving mother to five daughters. She worked part time as a secretary and bookkeeper. She will be remembered for her love of classical music, bird watching and especially flowers.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bob; daughters: Annette (Bob) Moreau of OR; Brenda Caligiuri of CA; Celeste Ward of OR; Debra (Edward) Suggs of GA, and Elise Tietjen of Delaware. Grandchildren: Robert Charles IV (R.C.), Eric, Alissa, Andrea, Kim, Kelly, Isaac, Larissa, Hannah, Caleb and Luke. Great-grandchildren: Mason and Malik. Brothers: George (Carol); Herman (Kathryn); Robert (Delores); Donald (Dorothy) Van Zee, all of IA, her sister Ruth Davenport of TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at First Reformed Church in Prairie City, with burial following at Waveland Cemetery. The family will greet friends from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the church on Friday. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
