ALTOONA — Sandra L. Clippinger, 72, of Altoona died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
A memorial gathering will be on Saturday, Dec. 20, at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax from 3 to 6 p.m. Burial will take place in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Sandra L. Clippinger Memorial Fund.

The daughter of Albert and Ardis (Remsberg) Beaver, Sandy was born on June 10, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. On June 1, 1956, she was united in marriage to Larry Clippinger in Newton. Sandy was a member of the Iowa Genealogical Society and the Appaloosa Horse Club. She had a great love of horses and spent 30 years going to Custer State Park in South Dakota to go trail riding.
Those left to honor her memory are her husband of 52 years Larry of Altoona; her children, Pam (Lindell) Ramsey of St. Louis, Missouri, Scott (Cheri) Clippinger of Madison, Wisconsin and Cindy Clippinger of Glendale, Arizona and three grand children, Brian Von Seggern, Emily Clippinger and Karly Clippinger. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Larry Beaver.
