Debbra Ida Morgan, 57, of Newton died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
Debbie, the daughter of Robert Dale and Vera Lou (Bonnett) Dooley, was born April 15, 1951, in Oskaloosa. A longtime resident of the Jasper County area, she graduated from Colfax Senior High, class of 1969.
On May 25, 1973, Deb was united in marriage with Larry Manning Morgan in the Colfax Christian Church. She had devoted her life to her family and was a member of the Baxter Evangelical Free Church. Deb was an instructor for Progress Industries in Newton for 21 years, building relationships at the Hadley House. She enjoyed raising her grandson, Tommy, sitting and visiting with family and friends, crouching and a variety of crafts.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry on Feb. 14, 2005; and her parents-in-law, Thomas and Lorena (Hunt) Morgan.
Funeral services for Deb will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at the Baxter Evangelical Free Church, with a time of fellowship and coffee with family and friends following the services. Burial will be in the McKeever Cemetery in rural Colfax.
Those left to honor Deb’s memory include her daughter, Tammy Jo Morgan of Newton; a grandson, Tommy James Morgan of Newton; two sisters, Pamela (Kenneth) Tague and Tamyie (Blake) Kingery, all of Newton; her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and her many good friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Deb’s name are being designated to the Tommy James Morgan Fund.
