Danny N. Haney Sr., 53, of Newton died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the First Assembly of God Church in Newton. The Rev. M. DeWayne Anderson of the First Assembly of God Church in Newton will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
Memorials in Danny’s name may be left at the church on the morning of the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton, where service arrangements are being handled.
The son of Fritz L. Haney and Mildred Johnson, Danny was born on Feb. 7, 1955, in Kermit, Texas. Danny has lived in Newton since 1993. Danny, a student at the time of his death, was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Newton and was a Chaplain in the Christian Motorcycle Association. Danny loved to be with his family and friends. He enjoyed people watching and riding motorcycles.
Survivors include his two sons, Danny, Jr. (Carrie) Haney of Colfax and Michael Dewes of Jackson Hole, Wyo.; his three daughters, Carolyn (Brandon) Eastman of California, Kristen (Walter) Ponce of Newton and Mindie Woodard of Council Bluffs; 13 grandchildren, Byron, Walter, Alex, Austin, Joshua, Anthony, Jordyn, Zander, Samatha, Lucas, Brandon, Payton and Abigail; his father, Fritz L. Haney of California; ten brothers; and six sisters.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother.
