KEWANEE, Ill. — Joseph G. Johnson, 77, of Kewanee, Ill., formerly of rural Cambridge, Ill., died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo, Ill. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Burial was in Rosedale Cemetery in Cambridge.
Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
Joe was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Osco, Ill., the son of Gunnard V. and Doris (Rocine) Johnson. He was educated in Cambridge area schools. His first marriage was to Bernice Dupre. He married Lois Swanson Peterson on June 6, 1987, in Galva.
Joe was a lifelong farmer and farmed in the Ulah area and then in Cornwall Township east of Cambridge. He retired in 1993 and moved to Kewanee.
Among his survivors are a son, Daniel (Jane) Johnson and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Rebecca Johnson, all of Newton.
