Geraldine was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Newton, where she was very involved in many areas of ministry. She enjoyed traveling, her volunteer work and bridge clubs.
Geraldine died on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at the Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She was 91 years old.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, on July 15, 1987; and a brother, Alfred Jones.
Those left to honor Geraldine’s memory include her son, James G. Brown of Jacksonville, Fla.; her grandchildren, Tony Brown, Teiala Long and Sulee Danner; her great- grandchildren, Vanessa, Blakelyn, Nicholas, Tristin, Teagan and Maya; her brothers, Barron Jones and Jack Jones; her sister, Harlene Ettelson; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at First Presbyterian Church in Newton. Family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
Memorials may be designated to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left at the church or Pence- Reese Funeral Home.
