GLENDALE, Calif. — Ada V. Grasse, 84, of Glendale, Calif., died on Nov. 15, 2008.
Born in Newton on Dec. 30, 1923, she was the daughter of Joseph and Bessie Crook. Ada was the youngest of the seven children born to Joseph and Bessie, and she was the last surviving child of that union.
She attended Newton schools from kindergarten through high school. Following graduation, she traveled to California to visit relatives, and it was there that Ada met the love of her life, Robert Grasse. Robert and Ada married and lived their entire married life in California. Robert preceded Ada in death.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews. One of her nieces, Twila Crook Jones and her family, lives in Newton.
