EVERETT W. EDWARDS

Everett Wayne Edwards, 67, of 538 W. 10th St. N., a longtime resident of Newton died Sunday morning, Sept. 4, at the Skiff Medical Center of cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Bill Calhoun, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today and visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials to a fund in his name will be accepted.

Survivors are wife, Sharon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Marita of Newton and Douglas and Sue of Casper, Wyo.; a daughter, Lauri (Mrs. Chris) Griffen of Nixa, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Gerald of Rock Creek, Donald of La Verne, Calif., and Paul of Wheaton, Ill.; and two sisters, Colleen (Mrs. Robert) Spain of Newton and Dorothy (Mrs. Harold) Hubler of Denver, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy.

Mr. Edwards, co-owner of the Newton Versteegh and Edwards Conoco Station for 18 1/2 years, was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

He was Navy veteran of World War II.

The son of Andrew and Theresa Lauber Edwards, he was born Aug. 18, 1927 in Kellogg and was a 1947 graduate of Kellogg Community High School.

He was married to Sharon Petermeier Sept. 28, 1957 in Unionville, Mo.
